God’s Resources, Not Ours. As counselors, we need to increasingly rely on God’s resources, not ours. 2 Corinthians 3:5 states: “Our sufficiency is from God.” We are not sufficient of ourselves. Apart from Christ in us, we cannot produce what life demands or what God desires. This is humbling yet liberating. It’s humbling to realize we lack what’s essential for true living. Yet it’s liberating to know God doesn’t expect us to produce it ourselves. He freely provides all we need. Our role is simply to draw upon His unlimited resources by faith.
“Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God…” 2 Corinthians 3:5
