When the IDF operation Northern Arrows transitioned from being only defensive and added an incursion into Southern Lebanon, the concern has been raised that it will not be limited to that area and Israel’s fight against Hezbollah has naturally been heightened. Iran has been sponsoring and guiding the Lebanese Shiite militia for its own purposes. So now the question is: will it sit idly by and allow Hezbollah to be thoroughly defeated, having lost so much already, including its entire high command? Or will Iran intervene, drawing Israel into a direct war, which will also engulf other nations in the region, perhaps also forcing an American intervention, one month before the Presidential elections?
