Are Today’s Jewish People the Israelites of the Bible? | Thinking Biblically Podcast

Are today’s Jewish people the descendants of Abraham, and do God’s promises to Israel still apply? In this episode, Dr. Mike Stallard examines five key issues that help answer these questions: ethnic continuity, God’s land promises, Israel’s unbelief, changing forms of government, and the centuries between ancient and modern Israel. Drawing from both the Old and New Testaments, he explains why these differences do not erase Israel’s identity or cancel God’s promises. We’ll also look at the claim that the northern tribes of Israel were “lost,” showing passages in 2 Chronicles that describe members of those tribes still living in the land after the Assyrian captivity. What does this mean for Christians today? The discussion explores whether supporting Israel requires agreeing with every decision its government makes, how believers should approach current events and Bible prophecy, and why Jewish people and Gentiles alike need salvation through Jesus Christ.
