Earlier this week, President Trump remarked that he hopes to soon have good news on the results of talks between the American and Iranian delegations who have been negotiating a new agreement to curtail Iran’s nuclear program. Trump appears to be optimistic, which could be based on status reports he is getting, or perhaps it is just a tactic – to blame the other side if the talks collapse and military action, either by Israel or the US or both, becomes the preferred or inevitable option. Iran’s Foreign Minister has complained about items in the news recently describing Israeli drills in anticipation that such action may indeed be taken. Are we now closer to striking a deal, or to dealing a strike?
