Amir Tsarfati: Jerusalem – To Whom is it Holy?

The October 7th war between Israel and Hamas centered on Jerusalem, a city considered holy by Jews, Christians, and Muslims. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is deeply rooted in the religious and spiritual significance of the city. According to scripture, Jerusalem was chosen by God as a place for His name and holds deep spiritual importance for the Jewish people. Both Jews and Christians believe that God has plans for Jerusalem in the future millennial kingdom. However, the Quran does not mention Jerusalem, and its significance in Islam was only emphasized centuries later. The battle over Jerusalem is seen as a spiritual war between the true living God and those who oppose Him. The city’s eternal significance for Jews and Christians is based on the belief that it will be the site of God’s eternal kingdom. Ultimately, the issue of Jerusalem’s holiness has been settled in the Bible, according to the writer.
