Both Jews and Christians believe that God has plans for Jerusalem in the future millennial kingdom. However, the Quran does not mention Jerusalem, and its significance in Islam was only emphasized centuries later. The battle over Jerusalem is seen as a spiritual war between the true living God and those who oppose Him. The city’s eternal significance for Jews and Christians is based on the belief that it will be the site of God’s eternal kingdom. Ultimately, the issue of Jerusalem’s holiness has been settled in the Bible, according to the writer.
